“my dearest edwina, i have come into possession of four large whelks”

Atlantic Canadian lobster

Made by Scout Canning

the unopened tin sits on the flattened box; behind, parsley awaits the knife.

Scout's lobster offers good lobster flavor, but the tin can cost nearly as much as a small live lobster! Then again, it's hard to keep a live lobster on a shelf in your basement.

a view into the briny tin: yellow-red lobster chunks. not much in the way of liquid.

Unsurprisingly, the tin does not hold large, intact pieces of tail or claw. But there are some good chunks of knuckle and claw in there, and the color is good. Use this for making dishes where the lobster flavor is the key---not its appearance or size.

metal tongs rest on the side of broad saute pan, their serrated tips grabbing at a tangle of spaghetti. chunks of creamy red lobster and flecks of green parsley fill the shining, steel pan.

Here, it's spaghetti with parseley and lobster. Plenty of flavor!
