Roasted Garlic Oyster Flavor

Made by Lays

Chargrilled oysters are a New Orleans delight: garlic and the heat of the grill bring out some lovely qualities in oysters. But even chargrilled oysters present a confounding factor for many: texture. Oysters range from slimy and mucousy (sea snot!) to chewy, but you would never call them crisp. Until now.

On opening the bag, it was clear to me that the flavor pretty spot on. These smell garlicky and briny, with a gently roasty/grilled flavor.

They're pretty good! I don't eat a lot of potato chips, and these aren't going to change that. But the flavor is fun and the fry is good (no rancid oil detected).

I was pleased at the short ingredient list here: potatos, oils, flavoring. The bag I got had an English sticker over the Chinese ingredients that said "vegetable oil", though some other ingredient lists online say palm oil---alas.
