maybe 50 tiny cockles stick to each other in their oily bath. powerful, vegetal flavor---not your everyday quahogs or manila clams. oil is mild and adds quite a bit of richness

no one will ever know on the nutrition facts. 115g net, 100g claims to offer 12g protein, 15g fat, and 5.7g carbs in 205kcal. but i drained about 35g oil (mixed w/brine) from the tin at the end, and 15g rapeseed oil has like 140kcal on its own so 🤷♀️
a few bits of sand here and there, and a small piece of shell in the tin. price of doing business, really.
the flavor and oil are so distinctive here that you'd want to find the right application---say, tossed with lightly cooked vegetables for a 'salad'
